Tugwood Wines began in 1998 after a long and extensive search which led to the purchase of 250 acres in the beautiful Mograni Valley just east of Gloucester. Starting with a bare block first experimental vines were planted in 1999 to gauge which grape variety best suited the soil and climate. From the start it was obvious that Chambourcin and Chardonnay thrived on the gentle slope of rich loam soils under the shadow of Mount Mograni.
