The Gloucester Seed Savers has been formed to organise and promote the exchange of local seeds . It will operate monthly at the Gloucester Farmers Market, where we will have a permanent stall consisting of small packets containing seeds for vegetables & herbs ,as well as cuttings that grow and thrive in our bio-region.
Our aim is to share locally adapted, non-hybrid seeds, open pollinated plants & knowledge for edible gardening.
We will be launching Gloucester Seed Savers at the 2020 April Gloucester Farmers Market!
Before the Seed Savers collection can get up and running, we are putting out a call out for seeds, By saving and donating/swapping seeds from our region varieties become increasingly well adapted to our local conditions with each season.
We need SEEDS of all kinds – they can be saved from your garden or any seeds that you may have to share.
There is no formal membership of Gloucester Seed Savers. We warmly invite anyone who loves seeds to join our group. There will be by monthly meetings to swap seeds and share stories & enthusiasm for maintaining our local delicious food varieties. If you share our aims and enthusiasm – please come join us.
